![]() It was also immortalized in the iconic motion picture, Top Gun, and starred in several other feature films including The Final Countdown, Executive Decision, and others. The F-14 Tomcat was present in several historic events that include the two Gulf of Sidra incidents, Operations Desert Storm Iraqi Freedom, the Yugoslavian conflict, and Operation Enduring Freedom over Afghanistan. The AWG-9 allows employment of the long-range AIM-54 Phoenix air-to-air missile, and the LANTIRN targeting pod allows precision ground strikes using laser-guided bombs. Noteworthy features of the Tomcat are its swing-wing configuration, two-man crew, and the powerful AN/AWG-9 Weapons Control System (WCS) and radar. Over the course of its long service it also became one of the US Navy’s premier precision ground-attack platform and its lone airborne reconnaissance asset. The F-14 was the US Navy's frontline fighter from the 1970s to the mid-2000s. The Grumman F-14 Tomcat is a two-crew, variable wing-geometry, maritime air superiority fighter that served with the US Navy for 32 years and continues to serve with the IRIAF in Iran. ![]() ![]() Requires DCS World version 2.5.4 or above! Also some glass in the towers and the raised walkway near the admin building would be a huge improvement but these niggles aside, EGGD from Pilot Plus is probably the best version of Bristol International money can buy.Minimum system requirements (LOW graphics settings): OS 64-bit Windows 10 DirectX11 CPU: Intel Core i3 at 2.8 GHz or AMD FX RAM: 8 GB (16 GB for heavy missions) Free hard disk space: 60 GB Discrete video card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 / AMD R9 280X or better requires internet activation. I do think better care in keeping the excludes within the airport boundary and more careful placement of cars over textures would make the product better. This is by far the best thing about the scenery, it really does look superb. ![]() Lovely bright aprons and car parks and building lighting is very nice too. It is absolutely stunning, the best I have seen. The buildings are accurately placed and look good, there is a lot of detail, nice reflection in the glass too but best of all is the night lighting. Since then, after many hours of work which is ongoing, I have ironed out many of these issues so with most of the problems addressed I am now seeing EGGD in a more objective light. It killed all moving traffic on the A38 and surrounding airport roads, there was no transparent glass in the control towers or in the overhead walkway, (a rather nice feature at EGGD which overlooks the apron) and I don’t think the trees which extend well beyond the airport boundary blend well with ORBX scenery. Initially I was very disappointed with Pilot Plus Bristol International. ![]()
